Rafa Ortiz, the kayaker known for seeking the gnarliest whitewater, visits Washington D.C. to paddle Great Falls, Class V rapids only 14 miles upstream from the U.S. Capital. Upon his arrival, he is greeted by two local legends, Jason Beakes who has won the Great Falls Race six times and Tom McEwan, one of the first to paddle this section of the Potomac River in 1975. The trio come together to highlight the beauty of one the only kayaking meccas near a large metropolitan area and encourage others to do the same.
