"That day" is a single released by The Golden Earrings.
Fred Haayen sees The Golden Earrings perform in Scheveningen and sees something in the band. He (also) poses as a music producer with Phil Spector as an example. He manages to persuade his bosses with some boast ("I'm sure I'll score a hit"). He passes a regular producer at Polydor, who, however, hated beat music. He asks the band to come to the Phonogram Studio in Hilversum to record some music. George Kooymans (vocals, guitar), Frans Krassenburg (backing vocals), Peter de Ronde (harmonica, guitar, backing vocals), Rinus Gerritsen (bass guitar) and Jaap Eggermont (drums) record four songs under the direction of Fred Haayen and sound engineer Frans Naper.
