"The PMC Story" is a recruiting movie that was produced for high school students to introduce them to Pennsylvania Military College. Such movies were commonly provided by colleges to high schools during this era as an aid to students in their future education decisions.
Bill Stern, PMC Class of 1930, was the most famous sportscaster of his time and his on-camera endorsement was very helpful to his alma mater.
This movie was reissued in 1962 with updates, including the addition of PMC's Glee Club singing the Alma Mater in the introduction.
Pennsylvania Military College became Widener College, and later University, in 1972.
Thanks to the Widener University Archives for providing the original footage of this movie. For additional info, contact Jill Borin, Librarian and University Archivist - jmborin@widener.edu
