This is a handcrafted keychain made using a bleed knot in a strip of leather. The bleed knot gives the leather a braided look and is very useful among leather crafters. There are specific knives made for this job, but a simple exacto blade knife works just fine. The type of leather I’m using here is a 4-5 oz chrome tan called Missouri Moonshine from Springfield Leather Co.
In my opinion, this leather is great for small projects like valet trays, keychains, etc. The strip I am using here is roughly 1/2” wide and 9-10” long
The split rings are size 32mm and can be found at most craft stores for a few dollars. These are a great project to practice the bleed knot and they don’t take long to make!
