After so much delays (college and personal matters), I have finally released a more refined remake of the Los Angeles Lakers' old defense chant which was played between the Showtime era and the 1990s at the Forum in Inglewood, California. This defense chant served as the predecessor to the world-renowned version played by the Los Angeles Laker Band at the Staples Center (now Crypto.com Arena). These days, I've noticed that the Lakers barely use this chant since they are relying more on pre-recorded offense/defense prompts.
I have spent a lot of time watching various Lakers games from the 1990s as my research for creating a near-identical version to what was performed at the Forum. This defense chant contained a bass guitar in the Key of E and drums, except there was a time during the shortened 1998-99 season when the Laker Band experimented with different keys (either high or low) for the chant.
HOW I MADE IT:
Unlike the first version I released back in 2020, I created this new version through Garageband and Audacity. On Garageband, the instruments I used were a snare drum and tom drum from their Brooklyn Drum Kit, and a bass guitar from their Liverpool bass feature. Then, I combined them together and added some reverb on Audacity.
If anyone will watch this video, please note that this version is shorter than the one I originally released. After watching their old games, the Laker Band barely played a full version of the song due to multiple reasons, such as a made shot by the visiting team, a stoppage of play (e.g., a timeout, foul, or violation), or if the Lakers steal the ball. Therefore, these reasons led me to I guessed logically of how this chant would end.
Lastly, I have updated the video with new photos of the Lakers alumni.
