Women who are not pregnant also experience vaginal discharge in the middle of their cycle, but during pregnancy, the discharge might increase. It keeps on increasing as the pregnancy progresses. This happens because the vagina works overtime to keep the cervix moist and healthy, and as a side effect, the discharge occurs.
Vaginal discharge is thick and sticky when there is no ovulation. When a woman is about to ovulate or is ovulating, the same discharge changes to a thin and stretchy film which helps the sperm travel towards the egg. The vaginal discharge during pregnancy might last for a couple of days or even stretch to some weeks in rare cases.
