You might have heard of the Pergamon Altar... You might have heard of the Ishtar Gate of Babylon... But have you heard of the Mshatta Facade? All three of these building-sized monuments are in Berlin's Pergamon Museum!
The Mshatta Facade is not only HUGE and artistically gorgeous, it's about to be closed to visitors for restoration and transport to a new spot in the museum. But that will take time - at least 3 years! So come see it with me one last time for a while. As a marvel of very early Islamic art, it's worth it!
