Trusting his friend, the monkey agrees but soon learns of the crocodile's true intentions when they are in the middle of the pond. Fearful yet quick-thinking, the monkey cleverly tells the crocodile that he left his heart on the tree and convinces him to return to retrieve it.
As soon as they reach the tree, the monkey leaps to safety, rebuking the crocodile for his betrayal. The story concludes with the monkey severing ties with the crocodile, teaching him a lesson about trust and betrayal.
