Another Video Recipe in our series on Recipes named after animals and insects. This quick simple easy Thermochef recipe is fun to make and eat. Tastes great and keeps well. Perfect for morning tea, a breakfast danish or even dessert. Kids love them and they fit in well at animal theme parties. We hope you give them a try.
INGREDIENTS:
180 grams cheekyricho Almond paste
4 sheets puff pasty
icing sugar to dust
1 egg for egg wash
20 grams whole blanched almonds
good pinch of cinnamon
1 egg yolk
5 grams vanilla extract
10 grams honey
raw almonds cut into fingernails for the claws.
Method:
Blitz the almond paste, blanched almonds, cinnamon, honey,vanilla and egg yolk for 30 seconds on speed 3.
Cut pastry sheets into 4 squares and spread a finger of filling along centre of each square. fold square over and egg wash shut, pinching well.make finger slits in the claws, brush with more egg wash and press raw almond pieces into ends of fingers brush again sprinkle with nut bits if desired and bake 190 degrees celsius for 8-12 minutes until golden brown and gnarly. cool on a wire rack and dust with icing sugar.
