The new combi boilers have a long history of being easy to install. They don't take up much space, making them an ideal choice for homes with limited space.
What is a Combi Boiler?
Combi boilers can burn different fuels such as LPG, mains oil, or gas. The used fuel will be injected into the boiler's combustion chamber where it will be ignited by electric ignition.
This heat heats your primary heat exchanger. It heats the cold water flowing through your pipes, and then heats your radiators.
Your central heating pipes are used to heat the water, which is then returned to your combi boiler.
To ensure that hot water goes to the taps, the combi boiler has a primary heat exchanging unit and
secondary plate heat exchanger.
Primary heat exchanger
The primary heat exchanger of the combi boiler heats the water passing through your pipes and heats your radiators. The water is then returned to the combi boiler where it's reheated and maintained at 60 degrees Celsius.
This water is constantly recycled and passes through pipes. It can become dirty, which makes it ineligible for showers or taps.
Secondary heat exchanger
The secondary plate heat exchanger will be used by your combi boiler to replace dirty water from the shower or taps that are used to wash dishes, clean hands, or take baths.
When you turn on the hot tap to pause central heating, the secondary plate heat exchanger will work. The system will open the diverter valve to allow the recycled water to flow into the secondary plate exchanger. This heats the pipes that carry the clean water to their destinations.
