Don't take your cues for how to behave at a bar from TV shows and movies. Fictional characters are often too rude, too indecisive, and use antiquated language when they order. And if you behave like them, then you'll be showing that you've seen people order a lot more drinks on TV than you've ever ordered yourself.

Show your inexperience too clearly, and you could get carded by the bartender. Or even if you don't make the bartender think you're underage, you could still convince them you're a rude customer who shouldn't be their priority. So follow the etiquette rules, and remember that ordering a drink this way is a red flag for bartenders.
