Although I've never been a desktop environment user, I do often get to try them out when I'm testing out different Linux distros. And I've noticed that recently, GNOME has become a very good desktop environment, even without extensions. But I do prefer a more traditional workflow, so I would install these extensions if I used GNOME full-time.
