The easiest way to create an offsite backup is to deploy a separate Synology as an offsite backup and use it as a Hyper Backup destination. Synology makes this process incredibly easy by installing Hyper Backup Server and using the built in DDNS server.
This tutorial covers how to use a remote Synology NAS as a Hyper Backup destination in order to create an offsite backup. This is even accessible for home users by purchasing a cheap J series NAS and leaving it at a friends house! This is very important to do to save your data from fire, water or theft.
