In 2015, Indira Jaising Challenged the opaque process for the designation of senior advocates for courts across the country. In 2017, the Supreme Court set down guidelines to make sure the process is meritorious and transparent with Checks and Balances. Since then, 2 clarifications have been sought, and now the Supreme Court has modified its directions in the designation, including allowing persons younger than 45 to be designated as senior Advocates.
