To use the CONMED Mixing and Delivery Kit, first remove the syringe cap and luer cap of the mixing syringe. Then, securely attach the funnel to the end of the syringe and pull the plunger all the way back.
Next, pour allograft, autograft, or synthetic bone graft material into the funnel. Pour the fluid referenced in the IFU into the syringe. Then, remove the funnel and secure the syringe cap and luer cap. Refer to the “instructions for use” of the material for proper mixing ratios.
Next, remove the pushrod from the mixing element by applying counter pressure on the tip of the pushrod. To mix the material and fluid together, first push the plunger all the way to the top of the syringe and twist for two revolutions. Then, pull the plunger all the way to the bottom of the syringe and twist for two revolutions. Mixing should occur for a minimum of 1 minute, or about 20 cycles, until the material is fully rehydrated and completely incorporated.
Next, pull back the mixing element to the starting position and reattach the pushrod. Remove the luer cap and attach either the long luer cannula or short curved cannula to dispense the mixed material. An obturator can be used to deliver any material that remains in the cannula.
