Traffic on the N1 north between Se-fa-ko Makgatho Drive and Centurion and some major routes around Pretoria to the Union Buildings will be disrupted until about noon this morning as hundreds of cars, bakkies and motorcycles driving at 30 km/h protesting against farm murders.
Bakkies adorned with crosses, cars with banners saying "stop Farm killings" and "enough is enough" while protesters are wearing white t-shirts with red hand prints on their hearts. Bikers from Nelspruit arrived just in time for the start of the drive.
Kallie Roux of Unite Against Farm Murders and Attacks says today is about raising awareness and praying for farmers, but also a call for people to get involved in security structures in rural areas.
