Claffey Jr. testified to the New York City Council about how the Metropolitan Opera's "management" is using the Covid virus as leverage to take away conditions from workers. Instead of negotiating fairly, the Met has locked out Local One Stagehands and outsources behind the scenes shop work to other countries and areas.
