Dream Job Video Series: [ Ссылка ]

This is one of the questions I get asked the most. I will get emails from people in their 40s and 50s who want to do a career change and they are thinking about accounting. And they will ask the question, “am I too old to start in Accounting?”
I wanted to make a video on this, because I think you are asking a much bigger question. If you are asking this question, there are three things going on in your life:
1) You are unhappy in your current job
2) You are looking for a way out
3) You are scared to make a change
If this sounds like you, I want to share with you my perspective. If you are unhappy in your job, it is never too late to make a career change.
I could sit here and explain how the industry makes staffing decisions, and talk about the challenges you might face, but none of that really matters. Those are just excuses. I could make a long list of all the reasons why you should not make a career change. In fact, you are going to have plenty of people in your life who will tear you down and tell you why all your decisions are bad. I am not going to do that. I am going to tell you to go for it. And here is why…
It does not matter how old you are, you are always going to face challenges in your career. Even if you start as a teenager, and make the most efficient career path decisions, you are still going to face challenges. So do not use challenges as an excuse. You do not know what challenges you are going to face. The only thing you know for sure is that you are unhappy in your current situation. The life choice you are facing is either to stay unhappy with your life, or be out there following your dream. That is the choice! That seems like a pretty simple answer to me. Go live your dreams.
