An unexpected historical discovery was made in the city of Kamianets-Podilsky in Khmenytsky region in western Ukraine. An old military tower dated back to the 17th century was known only by ancient historical maps.
The newly discovered founding may become one more supporting point in Kamianets-Podilsky's bid for the UNESCO World Heritage site status. This year is set to appeal to the organization for the third and the last time.
