Today marks ten years since Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 was shot out of the sky in 2014 over territory held by pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine. A joint investigation team formed in 2014 by Australia, Belgium, Malaysia, the Netherlands and Ukraine found that the plane was shot down by a Russian missile. All 298 passengers and crew died, including 38 Australian citizens and residents. Global affairs analyst and journalist Michael Bociurkiw was one of the first people at the scene when the event happened and tells The World’s Beverley O’Connor that the victims’ families don’t feel like justice has been served or that they have closure.
