Black rot is a disease that can kill off an entire orchid in a matter of days, for this reason it needs to be taken seriously. Here is an article to find out more about it [ Ссылка ] and also here [ Ссылка ]
I actually had the chance to deal with black rot, my friend had this disease on her orchid, so here is what we did:
1. Separate and isolate infected orchids, they need to be far away from healthy ones.
2. Purchase hydrogen peroxide 3%, you can find this typically at human pharmacies. If you prefer to use fungicides, you can use them per label instructions.
3. sterilize your cutting tools with alcohol, bleach, or by flaming them.
4. Unpot the orchid, throw away all the old media and, if you want to use the same pot, wash it and disinfect it very well with bleach.
5. Cut all blackened portions of the plant, leaves, pseudobulbs, everything that is infected.
6. Soak the orchid in hydrogen peroxide using a spray bottle or by submerging the plant into a container and let it fizz for a few minutes.
7. dry the orchid very well, all leaves and crevasses need to be kept dry from now on to prevent other infections.
8. Pot the orchid how you like best, keeping in mind the orchid's requirements.
9. Care for the orchid normally, but always keep the leaves and pseudobulbs dry. Keep the growing area well ventilated. You can use cinnamon powder to seal off the cut wounds. Use cinnamon powder as it is, dry, don't mix it with water or other liquids or you'll take away from its potency and effect.
Good luck and I hope this will help you!
