A powerful storm hammering the northeastern United States has flooded streets, grounded flights and halted trains from Maine to Virginia.
Nearly 1.7 million properties are without power and at least one person has been killed.
Coastal flood watches and warnings were put in place by the National Weather Service from North Carolina to southern Maine, including New York's eastern suburbs.
