burst damage stack:
traits:
-hunter: ranged crit triggers +25% power vs armor class
-shrapnel: +20% damage taken by target hit with bomb
talents:
-bleed on crit
-combat boost when consuming radiance
-3x guaranteed crits after using active
-strength pot
The boss damage here is extremely high. I don't have the mods to spawn enemies into lobby but I would say this is at least as strong as ranger with pistol or engineer with minigun and 3x potion effect.
An important note on the deepwood staff mechanics: the light attack is a 4x spam attack, but the entire attack counts as 1 attack for purposes of consuming stacks of guaranteed crit, or in dealing crit whether or not a stack is consumed. This is consistent with other multi-shot weapons, e.g., shotguns, volley crossbow, wherein the entire attack is either all crit or no crit. The result is that back to back actives give you 6 crit stacks, which is 24 bleeds. And even after the guaranteed crits wear off, the extra crit from the combat boost on radiance consumption will still give pretty good bleed; I believe the effect grants about +20% crit.
These are the talents/traits you should really be using anyway for a generalist, so, this is not really even a tweaker setup. It's just reason number 999 that this DLC career is a complete Mary Sue.
The only debatable point is whether to use hunter on staff versus free cast on crit. My view is that, since this career heals so easily, venting is not a problem, and therefore, hunter is the right trait.
