Our review of the Travelodge in Downtown Chicago. We compare it to the Sheraton Grand where we stayed last year. Certainly the Sheraton Grand is a nice hotel, but it is about twice the cost. The Travelodge has advantages that the Sheraton Grand does not have.
1. Has more food options around it with several fast food places and a couple of coffee shops. You do not get that with the Sheraton Grand, the food options are very limited. In the evening was not really a place to get a quick bite to eat.

2. Less Crowded. The Sheraton Grand is extremely busy being a 34 story hotel right on the riverwalk. The Travelodge is a 12 story hotel and much easier to pull right up front and check in and not be rushed to have the vallets take you car.
With that being said if you do want to be right on the Chicago Riverwalk Area, than the Sheraton Grand may be right for you, but you will pay atleast double the cost and may have more inconveniences associated with it.
