Aerial footage of Super Shuttle Roro 3 which has been grounded and seemingly abandoned off Tingloy Island in Batangas, Philippines. The ship was grounded in Caban Cove caused by Typhoon Quinta on October 26th 2020.
After I filmed these aerial clips I wanted to research more about the accident and was surprised to find out that when you search for Supershuttle Roro, there seems to be almost more news stories of accidents than anything else.
Super Shuttle Roro 5 had the same fate in Mabini during Typhoon Nina in 2016, Super Shuttle Roro 7 capsized and sank why Typhoon Luis battered the vessel in September 2014 and Super Shuttle Roro 1 also ran aground in Looc Bay in 2012, the ship had to be abandoned during which time a fire broke out and 5 passengers died during rescue attempts.
Not sure if these ferries are cursed or just subject to extreme bad luck as what started out for me as a simple aerial filming event turned into a bit of a documentary research project.
I tried to go on their website during my research which is clearly printed on the side of the vessels, only to find out the website does not even exist...I guess that actually helps me ensure I cannot book a ticket :-/
