Here I show the process of edge binding the inside of a lens case. The machine type is a “cylinder arm”(referring to the cylindrical arm instead of a flatbed style machine). This style of machine works well for binding because it offers greater ability to maneuver the material/work while applying tape(binding) to the edges.
This step is done to add an extra line or stitching to reinforce the seams, but also cover the raw edges of the panels that have been seamed together. If left exposed, they will fray apart and be quite unappealing to look at. Here at Stone Photo Gear we like to keep things pretty 😉
