In this video I show what happens when you plant daikon radishes in the spring, and I demonstrate my technique for lactofermenting the resulting seed pods or "rattails" in any size container with my all-in-one universal fermentation weight and airlock. I've used airlocks from homebrew supply shops before, but this is my absolute favorite method of fermentation. It's quick and painless and has converted me from a canner to an avid fermenter. If you've never fermented before, this is probably the simplest, most fool-proof way to ferment with things you probably already have at home: any food grade container, a zip top bag or slow cooker liner, salt, and the vegetable of your choice. Do small containers to experiment with flavors or large containers to preserve copious amounts of garden abundance. And there's no reason to stick with just one veggie. Mix together your favorite veggies and ferment them all at once. As always, I hope you learned something new from this video and all of the experiments I'm doing at Farm For All.
