Both the European Central Bank and a significant financial hub are located in Frankfurt am Main. A museum dedicated to the renowned German poet and author is now located in the former residence of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, who was also born in this city. The structure suffered damage during World War II and was later restored, much like much of the rest of the city. Each year the Römerberg's rebuilt old town hosts a Christmas market.
