Gagan Malik, an Indian actor who played the role of Lord Buddha, visited Bodh Gaya to offer prayers in the evening of 29 March 2022.
Recently he was ordained as a Buddhist monk (Bhikkhu Ashoko) at Wat Thatt Thong Temple in Thailand in February 2022.
He was received at the Mahabodhi Temple by BTMC Secretary Mr. N. Dorjee and Caretaker Bhikkhu Deenanand, after that they assisted him in praying under the sacred Bodhi tree.
