STORYLINE:
Thousands of Muslims in Bosnia celebrated Eid al-Fitr on Monday, Islam's most revered observance, by attending special prayers in mosques throughout the country.
The celebrations of the feast of Eid al-Fitr, known in Bosnia as Bajram, marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
Bosnia's head Imam Husein Kavazovic led prayers at the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque in Sarajevo where worshipers filled the mosque, its courtyard and the adjacent streets.
After the morning prayers, Muslim Bosniaks, who account for about a half of Bosnia's population of some 3.5 million, traditionally visit their families and the graves of relatives and friends.
