France abolished compulsory military service 20 years ago, but it could be reintroduced by the winner of Sunday's presidential run-off. Both Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen want to bring back and adapt military service to today's society. For now, a voluntary scheme exists for youngsters aged 18 to 25. Set up by President François Hollande in 2015, it can last from six to 12 months and ends with a company internship. Our reporters went to meet some of the trainees.
