APS-C Speed booster Vs. Full-Frame // EOS M + Canon 5D Mark II RAW Video DOF Test
People had raised concerns regarding how similar the EOS M with a speed booster would look compared to the full-frame Canon 5D Mark II Depth of Field [DOF]. So here is a general side-by-side test I made during Quarantine. Both cameras are great mind you. The weather over here as we are moving closer to winter has been crazy cold. I had to wear two layers of jackets for the entire day. Jeepers.
Things I noticed with the Speedboosters compared to Full-frame Canon 5D2:
- Slight loss of contrast in the middle of the frame.
- A slight color shift/tint which can easily be adjusted in post.
- Less shapely bokeh, but still good for what you're getting.
Overall really happy with both cameras and how well the EOS M held up. The 5D2 Full Frame Characteristics held it's own, but in certain scenes, it was very close.
