I return to the old gold mining area near Halls Creek (Western Australia) where I’ve found quite a few nuggets with my metal detector. Trying different settings on the machine this spot should reveal more gold. Since I found nuggets near the foot of the hills I’m curious and spend another few hours on the ridges above to see if I can locate the source of the gold near the old gold mines and workings up high. I end up crushing and panning a quartz rock out a reef from the top of the hills.
