Former Israeli president Shimon Peres has passed away Wednesday morning in a Tel Aviv hospital aged 93, according to a hospital spokesperson.
Peres had been suffering from a stroke which occurred two weeks ago.
Israel's oldest statesman born in Poland, Peres had served as the country's ministers of finance, foreign affairs and national defense as well as the country's prime minister in his 60-year career in politics.
