Guyana Election 2020 is currently in turmoil.
The People's National Congress (PNC), founded by Mr. Linden F.S. Burnham in 1957, has been rigging elections in the Co-operative Republic of Guyana for the period 1968 - 1992. The rigging historically used to be done surreptitiously but in the March 2020 Election, it’s being done overtly, clearly and intentionally defying all international observers.
The casting of votes occurred on 2nd March 2020. The rigging started on 4th March with the introduction of fictitious numbers by GECOM, ironically the country’s electoral institution legally mandated to conduct transparent elections, and it’s still continuing as of right now. This is the perhaps the dumbest and most flagrant attempt to rig an election while the entire world watching. It’s shameless and disgraceful. When gross incompetence is added to outright immoral PNC politicians, it’s a perfect recipe for disaster for poor Guyana. They’ve held the country’s economic development captive since its independence in 1966.
These strong-minded PNC politicians are leading the Guyanese nation down to further political, social and economic uncertainty. It may take some kind of miracle for them to listen to the reasoning of the international community in adhering to democratic principles, as anything ethical, fair, transparent, moral, constructive or logical is presently, constantly falling on deaf ears.
Will Guyana become a democratic or anarchic nation?
