Back with this old chestnut again, but going off my recent Instagram comments lots of people don’t know that… MANY WHEELCHAIR USERS CAN WALK!♿️🚶♀️
We aren’t ‘cured’ we aren’t ‘magic’ and no we aren’t ‘faking’ we use mobility to help us!
(If only it was *that* easy to be cured hey?)
There seems to still be this idea that if you use a wheelchair it must mean you’re unable to walk… yes that is true for some people, but not all people!
Wheelchairs are freedom, they help us get around while reducing: pain, tiredness, dizziness, dislocations, falls and so much more!
So next time, don’t be too shocked if you see a wheelchair user walking, standing or even running! 👀

#accessibility [video description; eliza a white femme person with rainbow hair is in their 20s sat in front of a white wall in their wheelchair, they are looking around and then stand up to get something, there is text on the screen that reads ‘me a wheelchair user standing to get something off a shelve in a shop:’ it then cuts to a close up of eliza looking ‘shocked’ with the text ‘omg you’re cured’ it then cuts back to eliza in their wheelchair looking at camera mouthing the words ‘it’s a little bit funny’]
