Mujadara is also known as mujaddara, mjadara, mejadara - all depending on where abouts you're from.

You only need 3 main ingredients to make mujadara;
2.5 cups Brown lentils
2 cups Basmati rice
6 cups water 3 cups for soaking and 3 cups for cooking
600 g Onion divided (½ finely sliced & ½ finely diced)
½ cup Olive Oil
¾ tbsp Salt
