Hyundai has officially launched the new-generation Verna in India. While most of the details were revealed ahead of the launch, Hyundai today announced the prices for the line-up which fall between Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 12.61 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). With improved aesthetics, more frugal engines and additional kit, the new Hyundai Verna 2017 surpasses its predecessor.
The petrol-powered variants in the new Hyundai Verna line-up are priced between Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 12.23 lakh.
-Diesel variants are priced in the range of Rs 9.19lakh to Rs 12.61.
The top-spec diesel SX(O) is priced at Rs 12.39lakh opposed to the SX+ diesel AT available at Rs 12.61 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi)
–One must note the above prices are introductory and are protected for the first 20,000 customers. The prices will be revised post this mark.
-The petrol variants in the old model were priced from Rs 7.84 lakh to Rs 10.50 lakh.
-Diesel trims were available at an additional premium, starting from Rs 9.06 lakh and to Rs 12.62 lakh (all prices ex-showroom Delhi)
-The new Hyundai Verna will be launched with an option of 1.6-litre VTVT and 1.6L CRDI units.
-The 1.4-litre petrol and diesel engines from the current line-up will be dropped.
-It will additionally receive a new 6-speed AT gearbox opposed to the previous 4-speed auto unit
The new Verna manual variants are claimed to return 17.70km/l in petrol and 24.75 km/l in diesel version.
-The petrol AT is rated at 15.92 km/l against the 21.02 km/l for diesel AT.
-The previous model returned ARAI rated mileage of 17.01-17.43 km/l in petrol and 19.08 to 24.8 km/l in diesel guise.
-The new Verna has grown bigger with dimensional changes.
-It now measures 65mm longer, 29mm wider and sits on 30mm longer wheelbase.
-The boot space has also increased from 465L to 480L
-The SX variant in the new Verna line-upfeaturesa 5.0-inch touchscreen audio system with USB charger in front & rear.
-The 7.0-inch touchscreen AVN system with IPS display & VR is reserved for the top-spec variant. It also gets smartphone connectivity options including Mirror Link, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
-The auto link is only available with the top-spec variant.
-It also gets rear AC vents and rear wiper and washer missing in the old Verna.
-Other bits such as auto dimming rear-view mirror, sliding front centre console, power sunroof on automatic variants, manually adjustable rear curtain, ventilated seats etc are available on the new Verna, depending on the variant one picks.
-Prominent safety features such asABS with EBD, dual airbags, clutch lock, rear view mirror, seat belt pretensioners (front), ISOFIX child seat anchors are standard across line-up.
-The range topping SX(O) variant additionally gets six airbags, electro chromic rear-view mirror, smart key etc.
-Rear view camera is offered from EX onwards.
