If you're currently doing a HUGE amount of cardio to lose fat and get shredded, STOP! In this video, you'll see how drastically cutting back (and doing ....... instead) will benefit your results and help you achieve that shredded look.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
So cardio can be a really really useful tool to improve your overall health (in particular, your cardiovascular health). But when it comes to weight loss/fat loss, it's something people are hugely reliant on and honestly, this does more harm than good.
And let me tell you why...
First of all, cardio is not massively effective for fat loss. You could spend hours on the treadmill and go home and eat those calories back within 15-30 mins. So unless you have endless hours to dedicate to doing cardio each day, it's not going to make a major difference.
But let's just say you did have endless hours in the day to do cardio. Well, I still wouldn't recommend you go overboard here. Because when you run yourself into the ground with lots of cardio on intense cardio weekly basis (e.g. multiple HIIT workouts), it can have a major effect on increasing both your hunger and cravings. So even though your expenditure would be high, if you were not controlling your calorie intake, it would very quite easy to cancel this extra expenditure out with more snacks/bigger portions/more treats etc.
Lastly, if the reason you're doing tonnes of cardio is to gain a more toned/defined/shredded physique, you probably won't achieve that if most of your time exercising is running on a treadmill or doing HIIT or LISS workouts. Instead, a huge part of achieving this shredded body is having a really solid level of muscle mass. So, with the time you can dedicate to exercise, it makes sense that most of that goes towards weights/resistance training. Because this is a hugely effective muscle building tool whereas cardio is not a hugely effective fat loss tool. So spending time doing something that is hugely effective just makes more sense.
However, cardio is by no means "bad" for fat loss and the point of this video is not to stop people from doing cardio completely. So, I give recommendations on what cardio I recommend (HIIT vs LISS) if your goal is both fat loss and muscle gain as well practical tips like how much cardio you should start out with/when to introduce more cardio etc.
Enjoy!
