Six people were killed and five others injured in a suicide bombing Monday morning in Kabul, capital of Afghanistan.
The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for the attack, local media reports.
The bombing happened near the the National Directorate of Security offices in the Shash Darak neighborhood.
"At around 7:40 this morning, a suicide bomber detonated himself in the Shash Darak neighborhood. Up to the present, six people have been confirmed killed and five others were injured. Most of the victims are civilians," said Nasrat Rahimi, deputy spokesman for the Interior Ministry of Afghanistan.
"When the blast occurred, people were very worried. The security forces closed the roads, stopping the people from going through. Many ambulances were shuttling back and forth," said Fawad Ahmad, a store owner by the bombing site.
According to the interior ministry, the suicide bomb attacker was killed in the blast.
Three extremists launched an attack on a training center of the National Directorate of Security on Dec 18. At least two police officers were injured and all of the three attackers were shot dead.
