If you're looking for a quiet vacation in Tulum, it's a good time to come as it's low season and there aren't many tourists around. But it's important to keep in mind that seaweed season in the Mexican Caribbean (Riviera Maya) will be peaking in June and July, therefore swimming conditions might not be that good. It's difficult to know how bad it's going to be this year.
