“Yesterday” was written by Paul McCartney and credited to Lennon-McCartney and released in 1965 on the Beatles album “Help”. So many of us are clinging to our yesterday memories because our todays are filled with anger and fear, and our tomorrow’s, well our tomorrows are not promised... My wife Deanne Kosman Neves took this picture of me sitting on the steps of the “Pacific Biological Laboratories”, or as the literary world would come to know it, “Doc’s Lab on Cannery Row”. I dedicate “Yesterday” to Mr. Frank Wright who passed away on September 25th, 2017 at the young age of 98. Frank was a member of the "Men’s Group” who took ownership of the Lab when Ed Ricketts the real-life “Doc” and best friend of John Steinbeck, died in 1948. I have many warm yesterday’s related to Frank, the Lab, and Pacific Grove.
