Jay Leno emerged as the king of late night taking over for Johnny Carson on the long running Tonight Show where he reigned over late night even against an increasing field of competition. Even with a nightly gig Leno continued to do stand up shows around the country as well as producing his own separate content, increasing Jay Leno’s net worth. How do you spend all that money? For the guy who fell in love with cars at age 14 working on a family pickup, he did that by filling his considerable garage with a more than considerable car collection. Now, Jay Leno’s garage is the envy of any car collector and even a few museums. So much so that the comedian hosts a show giving people a peek into his garage and his massive collection. The garage contains examples dating all the way back to the early days of the automobile to the latest in car technology, even if he has to commission it himself like with the GM EcoJet, a car built around an actual jet engine. Take that Batman. With one of a kind custom builds like the tank engine Blastolene Special or the 1906 Vanderbeit Cup Stanley Steamer, Jay Leno has an eye for important and unique cars and the massive wealth to buy them. But not every car measures up to the quality of the collection. Some cars could end up being thined from the herd without the collection itself losing anything of value. From garish hypercars to pedestrian tuner cars, there are a few that could make room for something more interesting. What would you put in your collection and which one of Leno’s cars could you do without?
