Stories of bravery, tales of division and a gunman's violent history were among the details revealed at a two-week coronial inquest into the 2017 death of Queensland policeman Brett Forte.
The State Coroner has now released dramatic footage showing the moment Senior Constable Forte was ambushed and killed by gunman Ricky Maddison.
The inquest's hearing in Toowoomba, which ended today, heard from more than 20 witnesses on the events of May 29, 2017.
Maddison, who had been wanted by police for domestic violence offences, stopped and opened fire on Senior Constable Forte using a modified SKS rifle after a police pursuit from Toowoomba through the Lockyer Valley.
