In this video I rode my last MD-80 flights ever. I did a quick turnaround from RDU-ATL and back. The reason the RDU landing is not included is because upon landing my finger accidentally hit the power button and stopped the video😒. Oh well.
I am really sad that this is the end of the road for not just the end of MD-80 passenger service, but the end of passenger MD aircraft in service in the US as well. If you grew up or lived in the southeast US, and flew Delta, chances are your trip started or ended with an MD-80. I can say that this is true for myself, as I have flown on countless numbers of these planes over the years. This plane is the reason I grew to love aviation and decided to pursue a career in it.
