(15 May 2016) Floating through rays of sunlight, a cascade of rose petals fell into the Pantheon in Rome on Sunday, marking the end of Pentecost Mass, and what Catholics consider the birthday of their Church.
The annual floral fall lasted a few minutes, delighting the first 800 faithful who had waited in line for hours to watch.
Thousands more were left outside, without screens to follow the ceremony.
Traditionally, Romans take small bunches of petals home to bless their houses.
