Thorpe Abbotts Memorial Museum is a fine Tribute to the 100th Bomb Group of the 8th USAAF.
Whilst the heroic exploits of 'The Bloody Hundredth' are well documented, special mention must go to those who created this Museum - some are no longer with us and to those volunteers who continue the 'Mission' to preserve the History of the 100th BG. Thank you to all concerned.
Many years ago, a WWII Veteran who served with the 8th Air Force in England (Airfield/Bomb Group is not known) as an Air Gunner related to me that on Missions, they were all scared but, "They were Brothers in the Sky when up there." This statement has stuck with me and whilst the acclaimed HBO Mini Series, 'Band of Brothers' was about the foot soldier, the theme song from that series and accompanying this presentation is more than appropriate for the Air Warriors as well...
