One morning in November 2022, Metro Motors Trooper Patrick Stoner was doing speed enforcement on Interstate 10 between 51st Avenue and 43rd Avenue in Phoenix when he heard a persistent “meow” coming from somewhere nearby. A quick look around revealed a small, injured cat in the median, hiding from rush hour traffic behind a cement barrier.
A few minutes later, after making a slow approach, Trooper Stoner was able to pick up the friendly cat and hold onto her until another trooper arrived to help with transport.
Fast forward a few months – after veterinary treatment to amputate her injured leg – and we’re happy to report “Cheddar” is now living her best life with the Stoner family!
