How well do you know the world of your story? The time, the geography, the people, its rules?
If you're like me, the world of a movie or TV show can be like a magnet that keeps me pulling back in. I love the New Mexico of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, Madison Avenue in Mad Men, and the Monterey yuppies in Big Little Lies. And if your movie is set on the border with Mexico, like Touch of Evil, Lone Star or Sicario, I'm there.
In this masterclass you will learn about various aspects of building your world, and we'll look at some cross-pollination between screen drama worlds and video games.
If you feel at home in GTA5, you probably dig the world of the movie Drive. And if you've played THE LAST OF US like Alec Garland, you'll feel at home in his film ANNIHILATION.
Join us for a one-hour deep dive into worlds of film and TV, and learn how the screenwriter can build an experience the viewer wants to come back to, over and over again.
