Hi, my name is Jesse Ruiz and I’m an artist and data engineer. I make painting, drawings, videos and generative art. My art practice is informed by traditional oil painting in representational and non-representational forms, comic making, and multimedia experimentation. Recently, I began making oil paintings on substrates that reference cell phone shapes as well as endeavoring into digital art making with digital painting and GANS. I went to school for philosophy and art but I made my way into tech because of financial instability.

I graduated from Barnard College-Columbia University with a Bachelors degree in Philosophy in 2011 and from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with MA and MFA degrees in fine art in 2014/15. I live in New Haven, CT with my partner and two labradors who are sisters. :D
